Our first Facebook Application: What's my COOL name?

**We thought that we should have a blog of our own for these applications

(as of April,2009 the number is only 1 ).

We want to share with you what we were thinking while we were trying to build it.

It was really cool to think that we will build something which will be used by others.

In the past we both(Nuruddin Ahmed Bappy,Shujon Naha) have built games, sites(as part of our university projects).

But we didn't built them from user's perspective.

Then the thought "making a Facebook application" came into our mind!

175 million users!

We can get huge amount of users(lets see how much we can!).

Lets build something funny/useful for them.

We started with Footprints (sample facebook application).

Then we started experimenting with facebook APIs with this application.

We transformed footprints to a "Naming application"

After a few days when we thought that now we have a basic knowledge about facebook platform, we should start building something REALLY useful (or REALLY funny) .

Then we saw there is no COOL application for naming in Facebook.

We already made the basic stucture for it.Why not complete it ?

Within a week we finished it!

This app has some COOL features.

This application lets you

1.Give a name to your friend
2.Give a name to a group of friends/or a couple!!
3.If you don't like a name you can delete it
4.Rate names.
5.Request your friends to name you.
6.Browse easily your friends names.
7.See the popular friends (who have most names and ranks)
8.Comment on your friends names!
9.See the recent updates of your friends!

As this is our first app so UI wasn't that COOL(though the app name contains the word COOL!).

We are hoping to make UI better,easy to use and attractive.
